Single Question Paper and Single Examination will implement from Next Academic Year : S&ME Odisha

From the next academic year, The school and Mass Education Department has decided to implement the single question paper and the single examination system from sixth to eighth class . This question paper will be prepared by SCERT (State Council of Educational Research and Training). Similarly,The evaluation and marking of exam copy be viewed by other school teachers. In addition, The school and Mass Education Department has also decided to publish the results of all student at the same time across the state. Through this new educational system, students' ability will be known. By this system, the complain of partiality In awarding marks in some schools will solved, The department hopes that it will be.

SCERT will prepare the question paper at the scheduled time and will check the exam copy at the zone center. Other school teachers will check copy.
CBSE and all the schools run under Education Development in the state have a single question paper system across the nation. But Odisha government schools do not have a single question paper system for all schools from 6th to 8th standard. The question paper of the annual exam is uniform while the question paper of the quarterly exam is not uniform. The teachers of the schools prepare questionnaires for the children and also check the exam copy themselves. Although there are certain rules for the preparation of school wise question papers, the question papers are being used differently in the 65,279 schools of the state from class VI to VIII. Therefore, the comparative picture of students and children's ability at the school level is not clear.
Once the single questionnaire system is implemented, it will also be known which schools are performing better. This will increase the pass percentage in the 10th examination board and the ability of the students will also be clear, said the Department of School & Mass Education.

According to the information of the department, soon both the single question paper and the evaluation system will be changed. From the next academic year, there will be a single question paper for both quarterly and annual exams. Similarly in this new system the evaluation will be done like 10th board exam.

The selected teachers will be rated after all the answer sheets of the district are submitted to the zone center. If there is a mistake in the account rating of any child, the Head master of the school concerned will inform the block education officer (BEO) in this regard. It is then decided to re-checking in the presence of the teacher looking at the answer sheet and the teacher of the concerned subject of the accused school. Similarly, district teachers have been instructed to ensure that all syllabus are completed at the scheduled time according to the academic calendar and revision arrangements are made before the annual examination.
